Today show viewers where treated to a classic Michelle Bachman discourse of the budget that mention al a lot of the worng thigs. She talked about "confiscatory taxation" as if every last dine wasbeign sqeezed out of millioniers and corporations, completely ignoring financial rel lites of this day and age.
If we got all the money of the "400 billionaires" she intoned whe'd onl ybe able to run goverment for 40 days.Yet, no one, litterally no one had even come close to suggesting that-not even Rep Bernie Sanders ofVermonet.
Setting up fictional straw men to knock down is a specialty of hers to deflect from real questions that have yet to be answered and Michelle doesn't want to.
That question is :When are the Republicans going to own up and pay for the2 wars and one gigantic entitlement run up of the Republican watch that is the major cause of the Defict today. Republicanshave studiously avoided this question..
Why won't Republicans man up and pay the bills they created? Did they imagine the could start wars without paying for them? Even Lyndon Johnson had to increase taxes-although late in the dayi n the Viet Nam area.
Republicans constantlytalk about "war on terror". Yet they never suggest that the war ought be paid for. Especially since it was, in most cases a phony war triggered by phony intelligence that even the White House had to retract in the case of the aluminum sheet tubes and yellow cake in a State of the Union speech.
We understand the embarrassment. But wars still have to be paid for. ..tax cuts don't pay for wars
Despite the best Republican efforts- tax cuts haven't proud ed prosperity either. Were it true the nation would be rolling in jobs-and we wouldn't have lost 8 million jobs tin the Bush years. Even with the extension of the Bush tax cuts for another 2 years -the unemployment figure still hovers at 8.8%-hardly a ringing endorsement of Republican economics.
Michelle Bach man was asked where she stood on the Congressman Ryan budget. She barely acknowledged the major effort of her own party.
We here at Democratic Financial World can'tblame her. After all those pesky Medicare/Meicad cuts -all $500 million of them are still there. The very same ones she voted against in defunding the Obamacare proposal and campaigned against throughout the nation. And the new $5.7 Trillion deficit number is even bigger than anything Obama has proposed so far.
"it need study" she saids sternly aching her eyebrow. And that was all she said.
Does she endorse an additional $5.7 trillion deficit?
