If you want crisp answers you won't find them from Rick Perry Perry clearly should have been ready for the HPV vaccine ambush by Michelle Bachmann and he wasn't. And he made it worse by not being fortcoming about his chief of Saff's role with Merck. He thought because he had won as Governor of Texas, the controvesy was behind him. Why would anyone madate a drug fo rpatients not seen let alone examined? And by executive ofder. At least Mitt Romney's were passed by the Legislature after debate.
It wasn't clear why Rick Perry shouln't be cast with Obama care, or worse Big Brother..
Then there was the illegal immigrant tuttion thing. First off at $20,000 a year that's high-there are plenty of people who make less than that and they work. To them -to give money to illegals while THEY obey the law seem odd at best. Sure Perry's heart is in the right place-and franky he ought to defend it. But it sounds like he doesn't atnicipate things very well and have an aswer in place.
We saw this again in answering question about his Book Fed UP where th says "social securty is a pozi scheme". No one has talked about it in those terms sice the1930's. Even in the 1940's Repblicans never called it that. Barry Goldwater himeself was careful not to frame the issue that way. Then, worse come to worse, and he says "social security is a setteled issue". Now how canan alleged pozi sheme be a settled issue. Is it legal or not? Perry never says.
It gets wrose. Perry said he would shift social security to the states. Now follow the logic here: why would the states want a supposed "pozi scheme" on their door step to pay for and nuture? What's init for them? And Perry had no answers-what happens when folks move between states? What about the differeces in re-imburment rates for doctors? Mitt Romney raised those things and go no answers.
Perry couldn't answer basic questions.
So, if he isn't prepared for the easy stuff. Is he up to snuff for the big job?
